A solid white light on an eero means it is online, so if your devices still have no internet the eero is not reporting a fault — the cause is upstream (the provider or the modem feeding it) or specific to the device you are testing.
eero’s own guidance is to open the eero app first, because it detects a network outage, tells you why, and walks you through the fix. After that, reboot the eero, check the modem or gateway it is connected to, and then test a second device to separate a network fault from a single-device fault.
Why a white light can still mean no internet
The eero’s LED reports its own state. Solid white is the documentation’s “online” state, and eero publishes a separate article for exactly this situation — a solid white light that is not delivering working internet — which is a good sign the pattern is common rather than a defect in your unit.
In practice the fault lands in one of three places: the provider or the line, the modem or gateway the eero is plugged into, or the one device that cannot get online while everything else can.
The checks, in the order eero recommends
- Open the eero app. It reports a detected outage and the reason, and it can guide you through the fix rather than leaving you to guess from the LED.
- Reboot the eero. eero’s documented procedure: unplug the power cable, wait 30 seconds, plug it back in, then allow around two minutes for a full restart. Try the simple restart before a reset.
- Check the modem or gateway the eero is connected to. If that device is a cable modem, its own Online light is the honest indicator of whether the service is arriving at all. A red or dark Online light there explains a white light on the eero.
- Test a second device. If one laptop fails and a phone works, the network is fine and the problem is the device — usually stale DNS, a VPN, or a saved network profile.
- Only then reset. eero recommends rebooting before resetting, and a reset means setting the network up again.
